Vampire: Undeath

As I lay on the concrete, most of my world was fading fast. I couldn't believe it, my mind was in total shock. Here I am, dying, losing blood so fast I can barely keep my eyes open. My strength is leaving me so fast I couldn't fight back if I wanted to. Right now all I can think of, as a single tear runs down my face is that when he drops me, my face will be in the gutter and the dirt, shit and filth of the street will wash over me until someone finds my body.

I can hear my heartbeat slow as my chest tightens. My vision goes in and out and it feels like he's laying me down. Death comes to me as I start to get warmer. Everything goes black for a moment and I'm light as a feather. It is here that I hear the voice call to me.

"You can live forever if you chose. I give you this gift if you drink... do you accept this gift young one?"

All I had to do was think it. "Yes." And I was drinking in life. Strength surged through me like electricity, I felt strength like ravenous lion chewing at a gazelle, my instincts came rushing in so quickly I could barely contain them. I felt like at any moment I would lose all control of myself as the blood washed down my throat. The world exploded around me as my senses sharpened. My sight came in so crisp and clear I barely recognized it. My hearing so sharp I could hear grasshoppers across the street moving about.

"That's enough..." the voice came again. I looked up, fangs deep in the wrist of the man who was previously draining me. Funny how a few moments ago I was on my way home and now, I'm sitting in the street, ass wet from the rain and gutter trash, drinking in the blood of a vampire. I had to tell myself to stop, if I hadn't, I fear I would never have let go.

About Vampire: Undeath
In Damnation, our vampires call themselves Huntru. They are the Blood Hunters, demons who walk the earth counterfeiting life and pretending to be human. Animated corpses who wander the world driven by their hunger for blood. Although each Bloodline (type of vampire) have their own drives, goals and powers which are specific to them, they are all Huntru.

As you play the game, you (the player) must control your character's urges and impulses as you continue down The Lonely Road. There are many banes to your existence which you must avoid and many dangers which lurk in the shadows.

In the Vampire: Undeath Corebook you are introduced to the Vampire Nation, a society based upon medieval practices which holds the most power over modern vampires. Nearly all vampires belong to this sect having rose to power after the Inquisition. Sticking to the Immortal Code, supernatural creatures now hide from humans and move about in the shadows.

Within legend is the vampire society known as "V" which is rumored to exist in the modern ages. Like the Illuminati or other fabled World Fraternal Organizations, "V" is rumored but never verified. Propaganda appears here and there and Elders begin to fear its' power.

Pulling at the heart strings of the damned is the society known as the Angeliene. These holy vampires follow the teachings of Angelus, an ancient vampire who aligned himself with God in an attempt to find a "cure" for vampirism. Although no one has seen or heard of Angelus his writings survived the Inquisition and serve as a wedge for those loyal to the Vampire Nation. According to legend, Angelus was a great follower of Enoch who was "taken up" by God and saved body and soul and vampires can too share in this salvation if they follow certain rituals.

Houses of the Night
Within Vampire there is metion of vampiric Houses and Covens. However, within each Sourcebook these Houses are detailed giving the player a unique view into the Houses and how they function.

Within the Bucoli Sourcebook is the Church of Dheva, covering everything from worship to infernalism. Everything a player or Director needs to introduce the House of Bucoli into a game is within the Sourcebook. Full descriptions on Demonology from summoning to dealing and bartering with demons is listed as well as an introduction to Devotions and Sacraments.

Within the Lilliana Sourcebook is the Cult of Lilith, covering everything from the history of the Cult to the belief of Lilith to the origin of the Succubus. Each Sourcebook expands the Dark Gifts known among each House and includes a section on "adopting" others into the fold.

The Eligiere Sourcebook is scheduled to include bits from The Tesamentum, and stories of the Covenant of the First. The Testamentum, being the "Vampire Bible" is the only scripture allowed by the Vampire Nation which details the history of vampires.

The Cherche Sourcebook has Covens and Tribes, small groups of vampires who live an "honor" based society. Cherche are known by their deeds and live in small groups with legends of Furor, mighty warriors they look up to with reverence.

The Daemoni Sourcebook covers the House of Daemoni and the legend of Vizerer, the first Mage cursed by Satan. According to the Daemoni, Vizerer was the first vampire, cursed and damned by Satan for lying to him. Daemoni embrace their demonic natures and have built their House on being inhuman.
